“ The poke was one of the best I’ve ever had! I got the half and half ahi tuna and salmon with Furikake flakes in the rice. Only 3 tables when we were there...no serving of water that I saw. ”
“ Ono is probably one of the better poke bowls in Honolulu. It is definitely better than Fresh Catch. Ono’s octopus poke is definitely better than Fresh Catch. However, we rank Maguro Brothers as No 1. Ono Seafood did not served japanese white rice/syshi rice therefore their rice seems to be typical low grade chinese white rice so it tastes slightly rough. They could do better with their ordering system like how to order, types with clear signages, this is especially helpful for first time visitors. There aint enough seats outside, let alone to say comfortable tables, chairs and a restroom to allow diners to dine in properly. Parking situation is also not great there. We did a take out to dine at our own comfort. ”
“ I arrived at the restaurant at around 10:30 AM after hiking at the Diamond head . There was no people waiting inline. I asked the owner for the recommendation. He told me that the top two were the shoyu ahi and the spicy salmon, which was not always available. Thus, I ordered a combo bowl with the two flavors. The shoyu ahi tastes really good and I like it a lot. The seasoning does not cover the flavor of the tuna. Also, the spicy salmon has the right amount of hotness. After finishing the combo bowl, I went back to the restaurant to ask for other recommends and bought 1/4 lbs of miso ahi. I had never tried this flavor before and the flavor was really good. It is a little bit sweet and has a light miso flavor. I highly recommended the three kinds of Poke (shoyu ahi, spicy Salmon and msio ahi) I tried. All of them are really good. They are well seasoned and the fish is fresh. Also, the price is really good! If you want to try out two flavors a time, remember to order the combo bowl! ”
“ Great local spot, I’m a huge ahi poke fan and Foodland is hard to beat for quality/value. This spot is right outside of Waikiki and had amazing reviews. Clean counter pickup service with a stocked fridge of delicious sides, I got the garlic edamame. A bit small portion-wide but WOW the quality was amazing. Highly recommend shoyu ahi, and the combo over rice comes w a free drink. ”
“ To me, this is the gold standard of poke to which I hold other poke. When I visit Hawaii this is always my first stop. Tuna poke and a can of juice might be one of the best lunches on the planet. ”
“ One of the best poke spots on the island. The parking lot is tight and often busy, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the warm rice made each bite even better. We ordered two bowls:Shoyu Tako and Shoyu Ahi with furikake in one, Hawaiian Tako and Shoyu Ahi with furikake in the other, plus a side of Shoyu Salmon. Every bite was flavorful and authentic, high-quality poke that really stands out. ”
“ The spicy ahi poke bowl has a nice, spicy flavor, which was one of the best poke bowl I had. They were relatively fast on making and checking us out since we had came right when it opened. They do offer dine-in seating, but it’s outside of store. As for the parking, it’s limited space to park if coming later in the day. ”
“ We recently traveled to Hawaii. We had the absolute pleasure coming across the Ono Seafood truck at the Farmers Market. The Poke Tuna- hands down- was the best we ever had . First class experience, one of the highlights of our trip. This will be our first stop next trip. Lance and his crew are fantastic! Much love- Ryan and Allison C. - WV ”
